Starting in the historic centre in the City-East between Alexanderplatz and the Brandenburg Gate, it takes you through the new government district and along the skyscrapers of the Potsdamer Platz, coming to the centre of the City-West with the Kurfürstendamm and the Memorial Church. In the early twentieth century, the Potsdamer Platz advanced to the position of being the busiest place in the cities of Europe. After the reunification, a new quarter was erected in a huge effort, showing a broad spectrum of contemporary architecture coming from many internationally distinguished architects.
